Hydrotherapy + Peat = Healthy & Healing Life Practices
Is hydrotherapy just a bath? How can peat help me?
The use of water or mud has been used for centuries to cleanse the body naturally of unwanted toxins. People were known to “take the waters” for many common illnesses and ailments as well as to use water or mud to maintain health and prevent illness.
Hydrotherapy: Very simply hydrotherapy is the use of water to heal the body. Hydrotherapy uses hot and cold water and steam to stimulate the detoxification systems of the body, to stimulate the immune system, to stimulate thyroid function, to alleviate pain and to relax the body. There are many forms of hydrotherapy available. Natural Hot springs are a wonderful way to enjoy therapeutic water. Many spas will offer a bathing pool experience with hot and cool pools available as well as steam rooms and saunas. This can be an extremely relaxing and enjoyable experience and a terrific add-on to your spring detox program. Therapeutic or Naturopathic Hydrotherapy will use in-clinic applications of water to aid in the function of the liver or the kidneys, help boost the immune system, aid in the healing of asthma or upper respiratory tract infections and will also be used for fertility treatments, PMS symptoms and many other clinical issues. Barefoot Health offers many of these services.

PEAT or MUD therapy: At Barefoot Health we use PEAT therapy to help in our detoxification programs. In-Clinic or at home treatments with PEAT are encouraged to do several things during a springe cleanse.
1) They encourage the elimination of toxins through the skin by encouraging sweating
2) They encourage lipolysis and the release of toxins from the fatty tissues so that those toxins can be processed by the liver and eliminated from the body and;
3) Peat has chelation properties which aid in the detoxification of substances from the body.
Peat is renowned for its organic constituents and is becoming of great interest to researches because of it’s action of heavy metals, especially heavy metals such as mercury, lead and cadmium. Peat has an unusual concentration of bio-minerals, trace elements, vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids in a form that is easily absorbed by the human skin. It is a plant extract not just from one plant, but hundreds that reflect the environment of the earth thousands of years ago without present day pollution.
Barefoot Health has therapeutic Peat available for sale from our dispensary.
