Reviewed by Dr. Doran.  This book is really for those people who suffer from anxiety or depression and who want to help themselves to feel better.   Andrew Weil MD is one of the leaders of the Integrated Health Movement in the US and he is always an enjoyable read.  His opinions are always evidence- based but grounded in his respect for natural health and wellness.    Dr. Weil covers the topic of mental health in a wholistic and gentle way, sharing his own experiences with depression and discussing health in mind, body and spirit.  He covers information from Omega 3’s to Vitamin D to botanical medicine to the research around meditation, cognitive behavioural therapy, exercise and participating in outdoor activities.  At the end of the book Dr. Weil includes and 8 week program for readers to follow to help improve their feeling of well-being and to help readers who are looking for more happiness in their lives to resolve feelings of anxiety and depression.    I enjoyed reading this book and found the information current, well-rounded and interesting.  I would recommend this book for anyone interested in more information about natural remedies for anxiety and depression.  A great resource.
