Lesley M – Our most recently addition to the office loves to meet new people in clinic, but knows the importance of the little things, so much so she offered 11 instead of 10 self care practices.
- Spending time at the horse barn. Just walking in and hearing them nicker to you eases my stress. Simply resting my head against theirs is therapeutic.
- Pilates – something I just recently have started. I leave feeling reinvigorated, stretched and ready to take on the world.
- Painting – not Monet or Picasso painting….furniture! I love transforming old pieces into something new.
- Picking flowers. I truly did not inherit my mothers green thumb but love picking the ones that do survive my poor skills, and arranging them in a pretty jar.
- Every time I walk by my bouquet, I smile.
- Baking goodies with my girls always brings me back to when my grandma would bake with us as children. Us waiting to either get to lick the bowl or spoon.
- Listening to music…LOUDLY! Yes….sometimes there is nothing like a good old dance party for one. Singing at the top of your lungs and breaking out the old school moves 😉
- Calling that one friend that no matter how much time goes by, it seems like no time has passed at all and laughing until you cry.
- Sinking my toes into soft grass or beach sand….grounds you back to the earth.
- Hot bath, a good book and a glass of wine
- Listening to my children’s heart beat while I sometimes cuddle them to sleep. Nothing puts your day into perspective like being acutely aware of the miracles you created.
